Medium Viking Sea Chest

This is a hand-made box from reclaimed pine rescued from the roof timbers from Yorkshire buildings, 

The design is based on ancient drawings of sea chests used by the Vikings.  It was thought they were used to store clothing or tools for the journey and that the Vikings would sit on the chest as they rowed their longboats.

The wood (pine) is over 100 years old, sanded smooth and finished with dark oak wax.

This box is built using a series of angles to produce a unique visual identity.

Recessed base, hinged lid. 

Available in two finishes (see pictures)

- Ornate bronze hinges, corners, and catch or

- Black/gunmetal hinges, handles and catch Approximate size 40cm long, 20cm wide, 20cm high
